World Liberty Financial expanded USD1 onto Canton Network on Aug. 25, targeting institutional settlement for tokenized real-world assets. The launch made the dollar-backed token natively available through Canton’s privacy and permissioning framework.
The integration moved a plan first announced in December 2025 into live network availability. It also placed a stable settlement asset inside infrastructure built around regulated finance, collateral and tokenized securities.
World Liberty Financial Brings USD1 Settlement to Canton
وورلد ليبرتي فاينانشال إن USD1 can serve as the cash leg for tokenized asset transactions. Institutions can configure the token for settlement involving real-world assets.

The Aug. 25 announcement listed derivatives collateral and institutional lending among supported uses. It also cited cross-border payments, asset issuance, funding, redemptions and institutional financing.
Canton said native issuance lets cash and asset legs settle atomically within one transaction. Its design limits transaction visibility while maintaining interoperability across applications.
That structure targets settlement timing between digital assets and traditional payment rails. World Liberty co-founder Zak Folkman said tokenized government debt had moved onchain faster than dollar settlement infrastructure.
Canton reported over $9 trillion in tokenized assets issued or processed monthly. It also reported over $350 billion in onchain U.S. Treasurys moving daily.
Those figures came from Canton and appeared in the World Liberty announcement. They describe network activity rather than USD1 transaction volume.
World Liberty Financial USD1 Mechanics Center on BitGo
BitGo records identified BitGo Bank & Trust as the USD1 issuer. Its March 2026 legal terms also listed the bank as issuer.
وورلد ليبرتي فاينانشال owns the USD1 brand and provides related services. BitGo processes initial purchases and redemptions and supplies technical infrastructure.
The USD1 stablecoin remains designed for one-to-one redemption against the U.S. dollar. World Liberty said reserves contain cash, government money market funds and other cash equivalents.
BitGo also described backing through short-term U.S. government Treasurys, dollar deposits and cash equivalents. The company publishes monthly reserve attestations under American Institute of Certified Public Accountants criteria.
BitGo’s February 2026 reserve report showed redemption assets above outstanding redeemable tokens. The report covered Feb. 17 and Feb. 28 under independent examination standards.
The Canton deployment added another native network to USD1’s distribution. BitGo said its infrastructure supports issuance and custody across networks where USD1 operates.
World Liberty Financial Expands Institutional Stablecoin Reach
DefiLlama أظهرت placed USD1’s market capitalization near $4.0 billion in August. Its stablecoin page also showed the token trading around its intended $1 peg.
The Canton integration therefore connected an established stablecoin supply with infrastructure focused on institutional assets. However, the launch disclosed no completed Canton settlement volume or named institutions using USD1 there.
That distinction matters when assessing immediate market impact. Native availability creates settlement capacity, but it does not demonstrate institutional adoption by itself.
Canton had announced the planned USD1 deployment on Dec. 16, 2025. The network then described the integration as targeting regulated market participants.
The December announcement also showed USD1’s circulating base expanding before the Canton launch. Canton said USD1 had surpassed $2 billion at that time.
DefiLlama later placed its August capitalization near twice that level. The comparison reflected broader supply growth rather than Canton-specific demand.
The live launch completed the earlier deployment plan and broadened Canton’s stablecoin settlement options. Digital Asset co-founder Eric Saraniecki said native stablecoins give institutions more funding and liquidity choices.
USD1 Stablecoin Adds Another Institutional Settlement Rail
USD1 now targets settlement activity tied to tokenized Treasurys, lending and collateral workflows. Its positioning depends on institutions using Canton and selecting USD1 for settlement.
World Liberty’s Aug. 25 release provided no timetable for named production transactions. It also disclosed no fees, committed settlement volumes or customer targets.
The next verifiable markers will come from Canton transaction activity and World Liberty reserve disclosures. BitGo publishes USD1 reserve reports monthly, offering a recurring check on backing as Canton usage develops.
