MSTR remained volatile during Monday’s session. Shares traded above Friday’s $160.01 close while Bitcoin remained near recent highs.
Strategy Stock Rises After 334 BTC Purchase
Strategy stock traded at $163.91 on October 5, representing a 2.44% daily increase. The stock opened near $164.20 before declining toward $161.50 during the session.
However, buyers appeared around the lower levels, allowing MSTR stock to recover sharply. The rebound pushed the stock toward an intraday high near $164.80.

That recovery returned Strategy stock above $163.50 and kept price action near the session’s upper range. Meanwhile, the $164.00 to $164.80 area formed the immediate resistance zone.
A sustained move above $164.80 would place $165.00 as the next nearby level. On the downside, $163.00 represented the first nearby support.
The earlier $161.50 to $162.00 area also marked a stronger intraday support zone. These levels frame the reported October 5 price action.
STRC Stock Moves Higher as Strategy Repurchases Shares
Alongside MSTR stock, STRC stock traded at $99.56 on October 5. The preferred stock gained 0.15% from its previous close during the session.
STRC opened around $99.45 before moving higher toward $99.59. The stock briefly retreated toward $99.52 before recovering near its session high.
Notably, Strategy reported $176 million in Strategy stock repurchases during the latest period. Of that amount, $80.4 million came from U.S. dollar cash.
Additionally, $22.2 million of the repurchases was funded by interest earned on cash and short-term investments. Strategy also reported $73.7 million in STRC repurchases funded through U.S. dollar cash.
As a result, $547.2 million remained available under the preferred stock repurchase program. That figure applied as of October 4, 2026.
Meanwhile, Strategy had $620.9 million available under the same program as of September 30. The company also retained $1 billion under its MSTR stock repurchase program.
That MSTR repurchase authorization remained available on both September 30 and October 4. These capital allocation figures accompanied the latest Bitcoin acquisition.
Strategy Reaches 848,000 BTC as Q3 Gain Hits $20.91 Billion
Strategy acquired 334 BTC during the week ending October 4, according to its latest update. The purchase increased its Bitcoin holdings to 848,000 BTC.
During the same period, the company used $13 million in cash to purchase Bitcoin. It also used $154.1 million of USD cash for STRC stock repurchases.
Meanwhile, Strategy used $142.5 million from its USD Reserve for preferred stock dividends and debt interest. As of October 4, the USD Reserve stood at $4.88 billion.
The company also held $833.4 million in USD cash on that date. Strategy maintains the USD reserve for preferred dividends and interest payments.
However, the company uses USD cash for broader Bitcoin treasury purposes and capital management. Those uses include Bitcoin acquisitions and expanding the USD reserve.
Strategy separately reported its estimated third-quarter digital asset results. The company recorded a $20.91 billion gain on digital assets for the three months ended September 30.
At the same time, Strategy estimated $1.88 billion in associated deferred tax expense. Its digital asset carrying value stood at $70.82 billion as of September 30.
The company also reported a $1.88 billion net deferred tax liability tied to its Bitcoin holdings and activity.
