Binance News: USD/BRL Perpetual Debuts Monday with 100x Leverage

Perspectivas clave:

  • Monday’s USD/BRL debut is trending with Binance news, with leverage capped at 100x.
  • Binance will use orderbook pricing during weekend and holiday FX market closures.
  • Bybit offers up to 100x leverage on FX perpetuals, while Kraken caps leverage at 50x.

Binance news focused on a USD/BRL perpetual contract scheduled to begin trading on Monday with up to 100x leverage. The USDBRLUSDT contract will track movements between the U.S. dollar and Brazilian Real, and settle in Tether’s USDT stablecoin.

Eligible traders can take currency positions without owning either currency, while trading will continue through weekends and public holidays. That schedule extends beyond conventional institutional foreign exchange hours, which generally run from Monday through Friday.

Binance will use different pricing sources depending on whether external currency markets remain open. Its approach combines third-party market data during regular hours with orderbook-based pricing during closures.

Binance News Details USD/BRL Trading Terms

The new contract links to Binance Perpetuals and has no fixed expiration date. Traders can keep positions open while meeting margin requirements and paying or receiving applicable funding charges.

However, regional restrictions and account requirements will determine who can access the product.

Binance said users should review local rules before trading the contract. The exchange will also apply its standard futures eligibility conditions and risk controls. These requirements accompany a leverage ceiling above the 10x maximum offered by Binance’s USDT-settled equity-linked contracts in May.

At 100x leverage, a trader can control a position worth 100 times the collateral committed. This increases both potential gains and losses from currency price movements. Binance’s disclosures warn that adverse moves can trigger liquidation when collateral falls below the required maintenance margin.

In addition to the Binance news, Binance’s head of derivatives, Shunyet Jan, said traders can use the contract to hedge currency exposure or take directional positions.

The Brazilian Real can respond to domestic interest-rate decisions, fiscal policy, commodity prices, and demand for emerging-market assets. The product provides eligible crypto trading participants with a USDT-based instrument to take positions on those movements.

Weekend Pricing Shifts to Binance’s Orderbook

During regular foreign exchange hours, Binance’s index will draw from a weighted group of third-party market data providers. That index aims to track the basic USD/BRL exchange rate while external reference markets operate. When those markets close, Binance will switch to a pricing mechanism derived from its own orderbook.

The exchange, in line with Binance news, said an exponentially weighted moving average will be used to calculate prices on weekends and public holidays.

This method gives recent observations greater weight while smoothing short-lived movements. Consequently, activity solely on the Binance exchange could impact contract prices while institutional currency markets remain closed. Once regular foreign exchange trading resumes, the contract will again reference external data in accordance with Binance’s stated process.

Jan said this structure extends price discovery beyond the operating hours of conventional currency venues. The same arrangement allows eligible users to maintain access during those venues’ scheduled closures.

Bybit and Kraken Offer Currency Perpetuals

The Binance news follows Bybit’s launch of currency perpetuals less than two weeks earlier. Bybit’s contracts track EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/JPY around the clock. They also settle in USDT and support up to 100x leverage. In addition, Kraken launched foreign exchange perpetuals in April 2025 with a lower leverage ceiling of 50x.

Those contracts covered the euro, British pound, Australian dollar, Japanese yen, and Swiss franc. The exchange has offered spot currency trading since 2020, reporting $5.7 billion in trading volume in early 2025. Separately, Binance Wallet introduced onchain perpetuals through Aster in April, covering cryptocurrencies, stocks, exchange-traded funds, and commodities.

Coinbase Wallet also launched Pulse Mode through Hyperliquid for eligible crypto, stock, and commodity-linked markets. Coinbase restricted that service to non-U.S. users in selected jurisdictions.
