- NEAR Protocol price drops 8% after the $3.8 million NEAR Intents hack.
- NEAR Intents pledges full reimbursement while repairs disrupt transfers across 11 networks.
- $4.50 support and a return above $5 remain key levels for the next move.
The NEAR Protocol price fell about 8% to $4.91 on Thursday after a $3.8 million NEAR Intents exploit. The October 1 incident forced the cross-chain trading service to suspend operations while engineers investigated the vulnerability.
NEAR Intents attributed the loss to an integration bug involving its Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure. The team ha detto it patched the contract flaw and would reimburse affected users in full.
The NEAR Intents hack interrupted a steep rally that had lifted the token toward $5.50 during September. Attention now centers on service restoration, compensation, and whether the retreat will extend toward nearby support levels.
NEAR Protocol Price Falls as Omni Bug Disrupts Services
NEAR Intents allows users to request a token swap across different blockchains. Market makers called solvers compete to complete the transaction. According to its documentation, accepted quotes settle through a verifier contract on NEAR.
The disclosed flaw involved Omni infrastructure interacting with the Intents contract. The reported vulnerability concerned cross-chain infrastructure, rather than the underlying NEAR blockchain.
The NEAR Protocol price decline followed disruption at a service used across numerous ecosystems. The platform reports more than $30 billion in lifetime volume across 35 blockchains.
Before this incident, SHIELD rejected over $50 million in attempted transfers linked to the Bitget hack. Bitget chief executive Gracy Chen acknowledged the intervention publicly.

NEAR Protocol price weakened despite the platform’s recent success in blocking suspicious transfers. The preliminary account instead pointed to a separate bug within its integration infrastructure.
NEAR Intents Hack Prompts Compensation and Network Repairs
The team pledged to cover the entire estimated loss after the NEAR Intents hack. Its initial update projected that NEAR Intents and NEAR Protocol would restart within about one hour.
That estimate applied to core trading services. Deposits and withdrawals on 11 networks were expected to remain unavailable for roughly 12 additional hours.
The affected networks were BSC, Polygon, TON, Optimism, Avalanche, Stellar, Monad, X Layer, ADI, Scroll, and Plasma. Users could exchange affected assets already held within Intents once core services resumed, according to the announcement.
NEAR Protocol price remains exposed to uncertainty over the reopening schedule. That schedule described planned restoration, without confirming every affected transfer route had already resumed.
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT ha detto irregular withdrawals came from a BNB Chain hot wallet connected to the protocol. He said the stolen assets reached KuCoin before being bridged into Bitcoin.
NEAR Intents contacted law enforcement and blockchain analytics partners to trace the funds. The team said a detailed incident report would follow in the coming days.
NEAR Protocol Price Tests Support After September Rally
The pullback followed a September advance from below $2 to approximately $5.50. Those earlier gains leave NEAR above its late-August levels despite the latest decline.
DeFiLlama listed around $230.36 million in NEAR’s total value locked when checked. NEAR Protocol price movements can change the dollar value of assets held in decentralized finance applications.
A lower total therefore does not automatically mean funds have left the network. Establishing whether the exploit triggered withdrawals requires examining token balances alongside reported dollar values.

NEAR price analysis shows an RSI at 45.05, below the neutral midpoint. The MACD measured 0.079 against a 0.093 signal line, indicating weakening momentum. For the NEAR Protocol price, the 4.50–4.60 area remains a conditional support zone. A sustained break below $4.50 could bring $4.00 into focus.
A four-hour close above $5 would support a potential recovery toward the recent $5.50 resistance area. A brief rebound below that threshold would leave the immediate recovery unconfirmed.
