Circle stock closed at $74.59 on August 17, up $2.97, or 4.15%, and up 3% in the trailing five-day period, Google Finance data showed. The move came as Circle highlighted on X a new milestone for EURC, its euro-pegged stablecoin, which has now passed €400 million in circulation.

Besides the CRCL stock price, the company said EURC supply has grown by more than 100% over the past year. Its rise has come as the stablecoin has found more use across exchanges, payment flows and institutional work.

EURC is available across major blockchains, exchanges and payment networks, giving users more ways to move and use euro-denominated digital money.

The latest milestone also gives investors another part of Circle’s business to watch beyond its dollar stablecoin operations. In its latest press release, Circle said the growth reflects stronger demand for regulated euro liquidity across crypto and traditional financial workflows today.

As EURC grows, the company is looking to serve uses such as settlement, foreign exchange, and treasury work.

EURC Expansion Adds to Circle’s Reach

EURC first launched on Ethereum in June 2022. From 2023, Circle expanded the stablecoin to Avalanche, Stellar, Solana and Base, building a wider base for its use.

By the end of 2024, EURC was live on five chains and had about €80 million in circulation. Its supply more than doubled during the first half of 2025 and continued to rise through the rest of the year.

Exchange support also helped increase access. EURC was listed on Bitpanda, Bitstamp, Bybit, Coinbase and Kraken. Besides Circle stock, the company said these listings improved liquidity for EURC/EUR and EURC/USD trading pairs.

The company also pointed to support from onramp and offramp providers such as Mercuryo, MoonPay, Ramp and Transak. These services allow users to enter and exit digital assets with euros without first relying on dollar stablecoins.

For investors tracking the CRCL stock price, this distribution matters because it shows how Circle is building more uses around EURC.

MiCA Rules Support Institutional Use

Circle also linked EURC’s growth to clearer rules in Europe. The Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation became fully applicable in the European Union in December 2024, setting rules for stablecoin reserves, governance, disclosures and redemption.

Circle designed EURC as an e-money token under MiCA. It is issued by Circle’s e-money institution in France and supervised by the ACPR. Circle said the reserves are separated from its corporate funds and are checked monthly by independent third parties.

Authorized Circle Mint users can redeem EURC 1:1 for euros, while other users can trade the stablecoin on secondary markets such as crypto exchanges. Circle said this setup has helped build trust among regulated firms and larger users.

The broader euro stablecoin market is also growing. Circle said the market rose from about €400 million on June 1, 2025, to about €650 million on June 1, 2026. At the same time, euro stablecoins remain a very small part of the wider euro money market, with euro-area M2 above €16 trillion in late 2025.

Circle also pointed to Visa and Mastercard adding EURC to their euro stablecoin settlement work in 2024 and 2025. These links have opened possible uses in cross-border payments, card-linked transactions and euro settlement.

With EURC now above €400 million, Circle has a growing euro product alongside its stablecoin business. The milestone gives investors another measure of the company’s progress as the Circle stock price remains closely watched.
